What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, training participants will not receive compensation from Bambu while attending training. Franchisees are responsible for covering all expenses, including travel, lodging, meals, and wages, for themselves and their employees during the training program.
This means that prospective Bambu franchisees need to factor in the cost of training, not only the direct fees but also the indirect costs of paying wages to their employees while they are in training and unable to work in the store. This is a common practice in the franchise industry, as the franchisor typically does not bear the wage burden for the franchisee's employees.
Bambu requires three individuals designated by the franchisee to attend and successfully complete the initial training program to become "Bambū Certified Team Leaders". The training program includes verbal, written, online, video conferencing or audiotaped classroom training and on-the-job training. The program covers various aspects of the business, including customer service, cooking, ingredients and drink preparation, and shop maintenance. Franchisees should budget accordingly to ensure adequate coverage of these training-related expenses.
