What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Bambu's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the POS (Point of Sale) system that a franchisee purchases or leases for their Bambu shoppe must include hardware and software to service the Bambu loyalty rewards program, inventory management, and timekeeping applications. The POS system must meet Bambu's specifications and be obtained from a supplier designated by Bambu.
In addition to the core applications, Bambu retains the right to require franchisees to acquire and equip their shoppes with other computers, equipment, and applications as designated by Bambu from time to time. This may include hardware, software, and possible online subscription applications. Bambu also reserves the right to independently access sales and other performance information about the Bambu shoppe through the POS system or any other computer or online system of the franchisee, without restriction.
The franchisee is responsible for all ongoing license, support, maintenance, and updates to facilitate the operation of the POS system and any required applications. Furthermore, the franchisee must acquire high-speed Internet service that meets Bambu's standards to effectively operate the POS system at the franchised location, which shall also include in-shoppe customer Internet accessibility. Bambu may also require franchisees to purchase different or additional services, hardware, software, and applications, including a different POS system, with 90 days' notice and may also require that franchisees pay any related subscription fees.
Franchisees are also required to use Bambu's designated POS system and credit card merchant service provider and must accept credit and debit cards from customers for all transactions. Franchisees must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to protect cardholder information. This includes adhering to the then-current PCI DSS standards throughout the term of the Franchise Agreement, ensuring the Bambu shoppe is compliant at all times.
