What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must pay a $3,000 transfer fee before transferring the franchise. This fee applies to transfers of the entire franchise or a controlling ownership interest in the entity that owns the franchise. The transfer fee also applies to the transfer of development rights under the Development Agreement.
There are a couple of exceptions where the transfer fee is not required. The first exception is if a natural person transfers the franchise to an entity where they will be the majority owner and principal executive. The second exception is if the franchise or controlling ownership interest must be transferred due to the franchisee's death or disability.
It is important to note that this transfer fee is non-refundable, as stated in the notes of Item 6. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these costs and conditions before entering into a franchise agreement with B Bops. Reviewing Item 17, as referenced in the FDD, is also recommended for further details on transfer conditions.
