Who is responsible for compensation, travel, and lodging expenses for those attending the B Bops training course?
B_Bops Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
The course and all materials used in connection therewith are provided at the expense of the Company for up to two (2) persons. The Company will undertake to train additional persons for a fee agreed upon in advance between you and the Company. You will, in all cases, be responsible for paying all compensation, travel, lodging and other expenses incurred while you or your employees participate in the training course.
The training course must be completed to the satisfaction of the Company by the person who will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Franchise. The Company may in its discretion extend the standard period of training if additional training is necessary in the Company's judgment for satisfactory completion of the course. If, during the training course, the Company determines that the proposed manager is not qualified to manage a B-Bop's Restaurant, the Company will notify you and you will have the opportunity to select and enroll a substitute manager in such course.
If, during the term of Franchise, you request a refresher training course, the Company will provide such training upon the payment of a fee not to exceed $2,000. The material to be covered in a refresher training course will depend on your needs as expressed to the Company.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 B Bops Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering all compensation, travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred by themselves or their employees while participating in the initial training course. The initial training course is required for the franchisee or their proposed manager to complete, typically around 45 days before the franchise opens. The B Bops company covers the cost of the course and materials for up to two people.
If a franchisee requests a refresher training course or needs to train a new manager during the franchise term, B Bops will provide the training upon payment of a fee not exceeding $2,000. The franchisee remains responsible for all compensation, travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred during these additional training courses.
This means that while B Bops provides the core training program and materials at no cost for up to two people initially, franchisees must budget for all associated costs like wages, transportation, and accommodation. These costs can add up quickly, especially considering the 25-day duration of the initial training. Prospective franchisees should factor these expenses into their initial investment calculations.
