What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for ensuring that the site-specific construction plans comply with all local codes, regulations, and ordinances. B Bops will provide the initial construction plans and specifications, but the franchisee must then transform these into site-specific plans suitable for their location.
This means that the franchisee bears the expense and responsibility of adapting B Bops's standard plans to meet local building requirements. This includes hiring professionals to prepare and certify the site-specific plans. The franchisee must ensure that the plans adhere to all applicable local codes before construction can begin.
It is important to note that while the franchisee is responsible for compliance, B Bops retains ownership of the plans. Any modifications to the plans require B Bops's prior consent, and the person making the modifications must assign their rights in the modified plans to B Bops. This ensures that B Bops maintains control over its brand standards and building design, even as franchisees adapt the plans to local requirements.
