What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to specific guidelines for signage to maintain uniformity within the B Bops system. These specifications primarily concern the size, color, and manner of display of the "B-Bop's" name and logo. Detailed specifications for signage, along with construction materials, equipment, and fixtures, are included in B Bops's construction specifications, which are provided to franchisees after they've signed the Franchise Agreement and paid the initial franchise fee.
B Bops requires franchisees to purchase all items necessary to establish and operate the franchise in accordance with the company's specifications. This includes items bearing the B Bops name and logo, such as employee uniforms and paper products, which must be purchased from suppliers approved in advance by B Bops. While franchisees can generally source items meeting B Bops's specifications from suppliers of their choosing, items with the B Bops logo are an exception and must come from approved suppliers.
Prospective franchisees should be aware that B Bops estimates that 90% to 95% of total purchases associated with establishing the franchise and its ongoing operation must conform to company specifications. While B Bops does not currently maintain a list of approved suppliers or criteria for approving suppliers (except for employee uniforms, logoed items, and shake mix), it reserves the right to require purchases from approved suppliers in the future. Currently, employee uniforms must be purchased from Carpenter Uniform Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, and logoed items from Martin Brothers Distributing Co., Inc. of Cedar Falls, Iowa. The shake mix must be purchased from Anderson Erickson Dairy Co. of Des Moines, Iowa.
If a franchisee wishes to use a different supplier for employee uniforms or logoed items, they must notify B Bops in writing and submit samples for approval. B Bops will review the items to ensure they meet the company's specifications and will advise the franchisee within a reasonable period (usually 30 days) whether the item and supplier are approved. All decisions regarding supplier approval are made at B Bops's sole discretion. This process ensures that the B Bops brand maintains a consistent image across all franchise locations.
