What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a manager is not required to hold an ownership interest in the franchise. While B Bops recommends that franchisees personally participate in the operation of their franchise, franchisees have the option to appoint a full-time manager to handle day-to-day operations.
However, if a franchisee chooses to appoint a manager, B Bops must approve the manager's qualifications, and the franchisee must remain active in the business by monitoring the manager's performance. The appointed manager, or the franchisee if they are managing the location, must devote their full time and best efforts to the B Bops franchise and cannot be involved in other conflicting business activities.
Furthermore, B Bops requires the franchisee to obtain an agreement from the manager that includes a covenant not to compete and a restriction on the disclosure of confidential information. The franchise agreement stipulates that the B Bops location must always be supervised on-premises by either the franchisee or their appointed manager.
