What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering certain expenses related to attending the initial training program. While B Bops provides the training course and necessary materials for up to two people as part of the initial franchise fee, the franchisee must pay for all compensation, travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred by the franchisee or their employees while attending the training.

This means that a prospective B Bops franchisee needs to factor in the costs of wages, transportation, accommodation, and any other incidental expenses for themselves and/or their manager when budgeting for the initial setup and training phase. These costs can vary significantly depending on the location of the training (B Bops's principal office) and the duration of the training period. It is also important to note that if B Bops determines that the franchisee's proposed manager is not qualified during the training, the franchisee will need to bear the costs for a substitute manager to attend the course.

This allocation of expenses is fairly typical in the franchise industry, where the franchisor provides the core training program, but the franchisee is responsible for the logistical and personnel costs associated with attending that training. Therefore, a B Bops franchisee should carefully estimate these expenses and ensure they have sufficient capital to cover them, as these costs are in addition to the initial franchise fee and other startup costs.
