What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not explicitly required to purchase all construction materials from approved sources. However, B Bops does require franchisees to purchase all items necessary to establish and operate the franchise in accordance with specifications established by the company. This includes all materials necessary for construction and decoration of the franchise premises.
While franchisees can generally choose their own suppliers for items meeting B Bops's specifications, the FDD indicates that approximately 90% to 95% of total purchases associated with establishing the franchise must conform to company specifications. These specifications are based on B-Bop's experience operating its existing restaurants. The specific construction material specifications are detailed in the construction specifications provided after the franchise agreement is signed and the initial fee is paid.
B Bops maintains the right to require purchases from approved suppliers in the future, though it currently does not have plans to do so for most items. Franchisees are required to purchase items bearing the B Bops logo, such as employee uniforms and paper products, from suppliers approved in advance by the company. Currently, Carpenter Uniform Co. is the approved supplier for employee uniforms, and Martin Brothers Distributing Co., Inc. is the approved supplier for logoed items.
If a franchisee wishes to use an alternative supplier for logoed items, they must notify B Bops in writing and submit samples for approval. B Bops will then review the item to determine if it meets the company's specifications and advise the franchisee of its decision within a reasonable period, typically 30 days. All decisions regarding supplier approval are made at B Bops's sole discretion. Prospective franchisees should confirm whether there are any approved suppliers for construction materials to ensure compliance with B Bops's standards.
