What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 B Bops Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchise premises is damaged or destroyed by fire or other casualty, the franchisee must implement and diligently pursue repairs necessary to restore the premises to its original condition within 60 days of the event.
However, B Bops has the right to direct that the restoration proceed according to the company's current specifications if the premises can be restored in accordance with those specifications without significant additional cost to the franchisee. This means that while the franchisee is generally responsible for restoring the premises to its original condition, B Bops can mandate updates or changes to align with their current brand standards, provided it doesn't substantially increase the franchisee's expenses.
This requirement ensures that B Bops locations maintain a consistent brand image and operational standard, even after unforeseen events. For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of having adequate insurance coverage to handle potential damages and the associated restoration costs. It also underscores the need to understand and factor in the possibility of mandated updates during the restoration process, which could impact the overall financial burden on the franchisee.
