What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Franchise Agreement strictly prohibits franchisees from operating a B Bops Restaurant at any location other than the one specifically approved by the company. This restriction applies whether the operation is intended to be temporary or permanent. Furthermore, franchisees are only permitted to sell food and beverage items from the standard B Bops Restaurant menu on the approved franchise premises in connection with the operation of the franchise.
This location restriction is a standard practice in franchising, designed to protect the brand's consistency and territorial integrity. B Bops maintains control over where its brand is represented to ensure quality and uniformity. For a single-unit franchisee, the company grants an exclusive territory, typically a two-mile radius around the approved location, within which the company will not open or franchise another B Bops Restaurant or similar business.
The Franchise Agreement specifies that the franchise is granted for a specific location approved by B Bops. Relocation is only permitted with prior written approval from the company and typically only when the original location is no longer viable due to damage, destruction, eminent domain, or lease lapse without franchisee default. This ensures that B Bops maintains control over the location of its franchises and can protect the exclusive territory granted to franchisees.
