What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 B Bops FDD, the document mentions a 'development fee' in the context of an applicant being granted development rights. Specifically, if B Bops decides to grant development rights to an applicant, any deposit made by the applicant can be credited towards either the initial franchise fee or the development fee, whichever is applicable. However, the FDD excerpt does not specify the exact amount of the development fee itself.

Instead, the excerpt focuses on the conditions for refunding the deposit if B Bops chooses not to grant the rights or if either party terminates the agreement. In such cases, the applicant is entitled to a refund of the deposit, minus the lesser of $4,500 or the actual expenses incurred by B Bops in providing services to the applicant. These expenses include travel, lodging, out-of-pocket costs, and a $100 per hour charge for office time spent reviewing or preparing information for the applicant.

Therefore, while the FDD excerpt confirms the existence of a development fee for multi-unit developers, it does not disclose the specific amount. A prospective franchisee should inquire directly with B Bops about the current development fee and the specific terms and conditions associated with it.
