What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company formulates its specifications based on the experience of its affiliate, B-Bop's, in establishing and operating ten B-Bop's Restaurants. Any modifications that B Bops may make to its specifications will be based on B-Bop's continuing experience and its own experience in franchising B-Bop's Restaurants.
Construction materials, equipment, fixtures, and signage specifications are in B Bops's construction specifications, provided after the Franchise Agreement is executed and the initial franchise fee is paid. Specifications for inventories of food and beverage items, ingredients, supplies, and other operational items are in the Operations Manual, given before the initial training course. Modifications to these specifications are distributed as updates to the Operations Manual or through written reports or memoranda.
Except for employee uniforms and logo-bearing items (including paper products), franchisees can purchase items meeting B Bops's specifications from any source. However, B Bops estimates that 90% to 95% of total purchases for establishing and operating the franchise must conform to company specifications. Franchisees are required to buy all employee uniforms and logo-bearing items from suppliers approved in advance by B Bops. Currently, Carpenter Uniform Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, is the approved uniform supplier, and Martin Brothers Distributing Co., Inc. of Cedar Falls, Iowa, is the approved supplier for logo-bearing items. Anderson Erickson Dairy Co. of Des Moines, Iowa, is the approved supplier of the company's shake mix. These suppliers are not affiliated with B Bops, and neither B Bops nor its affiliate receives revenue from franchisee purchases from these suppliers.
