What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to B Bops's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Development Agreement does not grant the Developer the right to sub-franchise. Specifically, the agreement grants the developer the right to select sites for construction of Units within the Trade Area and submit them to B Bops for approval. The developer only obtains rights to use the Licensed System and Licensed Marks upon executing a Unit Franchise Agreement.
B Bops explicitly states that the Developer has no right to sub-franchise the development rights for any Unit. They also cannot license others to utilize the Licensed System or Licensed Marks at any locations, whether inside or outside the Trade Area.
This restriction is typical in franchise development agreements. B Bops retains control over who can operate under its brand and system. This ensures consistency and quality across all franchise locations. A prospective developer should understand that their role is to develop locations, not to further franchise the B Bops concept to others.
