What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, each store must be supervised by a General Manager who has attended and satisfactorily completed the initial training program. If the Designated Owner is not the General Manager, then both the Designated Owner and the General Manager must complete the training program before the store begins operations.

The training program's length is approximately 7 days, but this can vary depending on the trainee's experience in the coffee industry. The training is provided without charge for up to two people, which includes one Designated Owner and one General Manager. Azal Coffee may charge a reasonable fee for training additional people. Franchisees are responsible for the travel and living expenses incurred by themselves and their employees during the training program.

The training program covers Azal Coffee history and menu basics (1 hour of classroom and 1 hour of on-the-job training), coffee and menu preparation (8 hours of classroom and 20 hours of on-the-job training), and permits, POS systems, and safety protocols (2 hours of classroom and 2 hours of on-the-job training). All training takes place in Dearborn, Michigan, or at another location determined by Azal Coffee.
