Who pays for the service evaluations that Azal Coffee may use to inspect an Azal Coffee franchise business?

According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Azal Coffee may use service evaluations to inspect a franchise business at their own expense, without prior notification to the franchisee. These evaluations can be conducted by Azal Coffee themselves or through a third-party shopping service. However, the franchisee is responsible for paying a mystery shopper fee to implement this program.

These service evaluations cover various aspects of the business, including food and drink quality, legal compliance, inventory availability, customer service, cleanliness, merchandising, franchise compliance, and proper use of the Franchise Technology. The results of these evaluations may be made available to the franchisee at Azal Coffee's discretion.

If any deficiencies are detected during these inspections, the franchisee must take immediate action to correct them. Should the franchisee fail to make the necessary corrections within a reasonable timeframe, Azal Coffee has the right, but not the obligation, to correct the deficiencies themselves and charge the franchisee a reasonable fee for any expenses incurred. Furthermore, violations of the Franchise Agreement or Azal Coffee's specifications observed during inspections may result in liquidated damages being assessed against the franchisee.
