What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Azal Coffee has the right to acquire a cyber insurance policy for the Azal Coffee franchise system and require franchisees to pay a portion of the cost of the cyber insurance policy, as determined under their policies and procedures. Azal Coffee also has the right to collect the franchisee's share of the costs of the vendor and/or cyber insurance policy on a periodic basis.

This means that as a prospective franchisee, you may be required to contribute to the cost of a cyber insurance policy that Azal Coffee acquires for the entire franchise system. The exact amount and payment schedule will be determined by Azal Coffee's policies and procedures, which are not detailed in this excerpt.

It is common practice in franchising for franchisors to set minimum insurance coverage requirements that franchisees must meet. This ensures brand protection and reduces risk across the franchise system. However, this excerpt specifically mentions cyber insurance, which is less common but increasingly relevant given the rise in data breaches and cyber threats. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific costs, coverage details, and payment terms associated with this cyber insurance policy to fully understand the financial implications.
