We and our affiliates, as the result of the expenditure of time, skill, effort, and money, have developed a coffee café that specializes in Yemeni-grown coffee and that sells coffee based beverages, cold drinks, teas, coffee beans, coffee accessories, pastries, baked goods, and other related items, all of which constitute trade secrets and are identified by the public with Azal Coffee products; prescribed exterior and interior design, decor, seating, fixtures, and furnishings; standards and specifications for products and supplies; service standards; uniform standards, specifications, and procedures for operations; training and assistance; and advertising and promotional programs (collectively "Systems"); all of which may be changed, improved, and further developed by us.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Azal Coffee retains the right to modify and enhance its Systems. The Systems encompass various elements of the Azal Coffee franchise, including the specialized Yemeni-grown coffee, coffee-based beverages, cold drinks, teas, coffee beans, accessories, pastries, baked goods, store design, product standards, service standards, operational procedures, training programs, and advertising. This broad definition allows Azal Coffee considerable latitude in adapting the franchise model.
This right enables Azal Coffee to respond to market changes, improve operational efficiency, and maintain brand consistency across all franchise locations. For a franchisee, this means that the specific methods and standards under which they operate their Azal Coffee store may evolve over time. Franchisees are required to adapt to these changes, which may involve adopting new technologies, modifying store layouts, or altering product offerings.
Azal Coffee may also require franchisees to use certain technologies, referred to as "Franchise Technology," which includes websites, point of sale systems, and other electronic media. Azal Coffee can change or modify this Franchise Technology, and franchisees must implement these changes within 30 days of written notice. While these changes aim to benefit the Azal Coffee system, franchisees should be aware of the potential costs associated with adopting new technologies or operational standards. Franchisees are responsible for license fees, service fees, and other costs to maintain the Franchise Technology.
