What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may incur several expenses related to additional training beyond the initial training fee. Azal Coffee may require a Designated Owner, General Manager, or other management employees to attend additional training, sales programs, and meetings, with the franchisee bearing the costs. These costs include wages or salaries, travel, food, and lodging for the employees attending the training.

Furthermore, if a franchisee requests additional assistance, they are responsible for the trainer's per diem fee and related travel costs. They must also cover wages, employment-related expenses, travel, and living expenses for their employees during training. If Azal Coffee determines that a franchisee's management staff requires additional training after the initial opening assistance, the franchisee is responsible for these additional training costs, including the wages, travel, and living expenses of Azal Coffee's staff.

Azal Coffee also states that they incur costs when providing additional training, including reimbursement for materials, travel (if any), and a reasonable charge to cover their personnel costs. Therefore, franchisees should budget not only for the direct training fees charged by Azal Coffee but also for all associated costs, such as employee compensation and travel, to ensure full compliance with the franchise agreement and to adequately support their staff's training needs.
