What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Azal Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Designated Owner and the General Manager (if the Designated Owner is not the General Manager) must attend and satisfactorily complete the initial training program. The training program must be completed before beginning store operations and to Azal Coffee's satisfaction.
Azal Coffee's initial training program is approximately 7 days long, depending on experience in the coffee industry. The training program is conducted without charge for up to 2 persons, specifically 1 Designated Owner and 1 General Manager. Additional persons may be trained upon request, but Azal Coffee may charge a reasonable fee for each additional person trained. The training program is conducted at Azal Coffee's affiliate in Dearborn, Michigan, or another location determined by Azal Coffee.
Franchisees are responsible for the traveling and living expenses for themselves and their employees during the training program. Individuals attending the training may be required to sign a confidentiality and/or noncompetition agreement before beginning the training program. The Azal Coffee store must always be under the supervision of a General Manager who has attended and satisfactorily completed the training program.
If the franchisee or their employees do not complete the training program to Azal Coffee's satisfaction, Azal Coffee reserves the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement or require additional training. If additional training is required, the franchisee will pay Azal Coffee $250 per person per day, in addition to all other expenses incurred for travel, labor, lodging, and meals.
