What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must submit samples of all advertising or promotional plans and materials that they desire to use and that have not been prepared or previously approved by Aw. This submission must occur before the franchisee uses the materials.
Aw will then review the submitted materials. If the franchisee does not receive written approval from Aw within 30 days, Aw will be deemed to have disapproved them. The franchisee is explicitly prohibited from using any marketing or promotional materials that Aw has disapproved.
This requirement ensures that all advertising and promotional efforts align with Aw's brand standards and ethical guidelines. It also allows Aw to maintain control over the messaging and image associated with the Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant brand. Franchisees need to factor in this 30-day approval window when planning marketing campaigns to avoid delays.
