What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Aw may require the franchisee (or the approved owner) and any manager to attend supplemental training, seminars, programs, regional franchise meetings, and/or webinars during the term of the franchise. These events will be held at times and places designated by Aw.

Aw has the right to charge a tuition fee for these supplemental programs. In addition to tuition, the franchisee will be responsible for covering the travel and living expenses incurred by themselves and their managers when attending these required events.

This requirement to attend supplemental training is fairly common in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to keep franchisees updated on new products, services, and operational procedures. It also provides a platform for networking and sharing best practices among franchisees. However, the added costs of tuition, travel, and lodging should be carefully considered by prospective Aw franchisees as part of their overall investment.
