What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's right to renew their franchise is contingent upon several factors, including compliance with training requirements. Specifically, both the franchisee and their Owners must comply with Aw's then-current training requirements and attend any training classes that Aw deems necessary. This condition is in addition to substantially complying with all provisions of the franchise agreement and any other agreements with Aw.
If a franchisee or their Owners fail to meet these training requirements, Aw may choose not to renew the franchise agreement. Aw is obligated to provide written notice of any deficiencies in the franchisee's operation or historical performance that could lead to non-renewal within 60 days of receiving the franchisee's renewal notice. This notice will detail the actions needed to correct these deficiencies and the timeframe for doing so.
Ultimately, the renewal of the Aw franchise depends on the franchisee's continued adherence to all terms and conditions of the agreement up to the expiration date. Failure to comply with training requirements, among other potential issues, can result in Aw issuing a notice of nonrenewal, effectively ending the franchise relationship at the end of its current term.
