What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must submit all proposed content for internet or social media advertising or promotion for approval before use, if the content was not prepared or previously approved by Aw. This requirement ensures that all online advertising aligns with Aw's brand standards and marketing strategies.
If Aw does not provide written approval within thirty days from the date the materials are received, the materials will be considered disapproved. Franchisees are prohibited from using any advertising or promotional materials that Aw has disapproved. This stipulation reinforces Aw's control over its brand image and marketing efforts, ensuring consistency and quality across all advertising channels.
In addition to submitting content for approval, Aw franchisees are also restricted in other ways regarding online presence. Franchisees cannot obtain domain names or URL addresses incorporating Aw's trademarks, nor can they create or maintain their own websites using Aw's marks without prior written consent. Similarly, using Aw's marks in any online directory listing, advertising, social media site, or blog requires prior written consent, and any permitted use must adhere to Aw's standards and procedures as outlined in the operations manual.
