What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Aw does not charge a fee for its initial training program for up to two owners and/or managers. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering the costs of transportation and meals while attending the initial training. These costs can vary significantly, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, depending on factors such as the distance traveled from the franchisee's residence and their choices for lodging and meals. The higher end of the estimate is based on two people attending the training.
This means that while the training itself is provided without a direct fee, prospective Aw franchisees need to budget for travel and living expenses associated with attending the training program. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it allows Aw to provide the training without incurring the full cost, while franchisees bear the responsibility for their own travel and accommodation preferences.
Therefore, when evaluating the initial investment for an Aw franchise, candidates should carefully consider their location and potential travel costs to accurately estimate the expenses associated with the mandatory initial training. It is prudent to research travel and accommodation options in advance to get a realistic understanding of these costs and factor them into their overall financial planning.
