What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to display the Marks prominently. Specifically, Aw franchisees must display the Marks in the manner that Aw prescribes while operating their Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant. This includes displaying the Marks on signs and forms, as well as in connection with advertising and promotional materials.
This requirement ensures brand consistency and visibility, which is a common practice in franchising. By prominently displaying the Marks, franchisees contribute to the overall brand recognition and customer awareness of Aw. This benefits both the individual franchisee and the entire franchise system.
However, franchisees must also identify themselves as the independent owner of their Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant, pursuant to a Franchise Agreement with Aw. This dual requirement balances the need for brand uniformity with the franchisee's independent identity. Franchisees must also use only the trademark or service mark registrations and copyrights that Aw specifies and obtain any required fictitious or assumed name registrations under applicable law.
