What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must submit final construction plans and specifications to Aw for approval before beginning any construction at the premises. Furthermore, the franchisee is obligated to construct the Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant in accordance with those approved plans.
This requirement ensures that all Aw franchise locations adhere to the brand's standards for interior and exterior design, decoration, fixtures, furniture, layout, equipment, and signage. This consistency is crucial for maintaining brand uniformity and customer expectations across all locations.
Additionally, the franchisee must advise Aw of any necessary variations from the standard specifications to meet local requirements, such as building codes or ordinances. This ensures compliance with local laws while still maintaining the Aw brand standards as much as possible. Failing to obtain approval or deviating from the approved plans could result in delays, additional costs, or even the inability to open the restaurant.
