What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant franchisee requests additional on-site operating assistance and Aw determines it is necessary, the franchisee is responsible for covering specific expenses. In addition to paying the then-current daily fee for the on-site assistance, the franchisee must also pay for all expenses incurred by Aw's representative during the visit. These expenses include, but are not limited to, travel, room, and board. This means that franchisees need to budget not only for the service fee itself but also for the logistical costs associated with Aw sending a representative to their location.

This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as it ensures that the franchisor is compensated for the direct costs of providing specialized support. It also incentivizes franchisees to utilize available resources, such as the Operations Manual, approved supplier lists, and telephone consultations, before requesting on-site assistance, potentially reducing costs. Franchisees should inquire about the typical daily fee charged by Aw for on-site assistance, as well as estimated travel costs, to better understand the potential financial implications of requesting this type of support.

Prospective franchisees should consider these potential costs when evaluating the overall financial investment required to operate a Papa Ray's Pizza Restaurant franchise. Understanding the circumstances under which on-site assistance might be needed and the associated expenses will help in creating a realistic operating budget. It is also advisable to discuss with existing franchisees their experiences with on-site assistance and the actual costs they incurred.
