What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Aw's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Exhibit 1 to the franchise agreement describes the location of the premises and the protected area granted to the franchisee.

The Protected Area is defined by a radius from the franchisee's premises, with a minimum radius of three miles. However, the exact size and boundaries of the Protected Area can vary based on factors such as population density, demographics, existing competition, and topographical features. For locations within limited use facilities like airports or shopping centers, the Protected Area may be restricted to just that facility.

Aw retains the right to grant other franchises outside the Protected Area and can operate or franchise businesses within limited use facilities, even if they are within a franchisee's Protected Area. Aw also reserves the right to distribute products and services through alternative channels like supermarkets or the internet, both within and outside the Protected Area. Franchisees are restricted from targeted marketing within another franchisee's Protected Area and from providing delivery or catering services outside their own Protected Area without prior written consent from Aw.
