What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Auntie Annes's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a potential supplier must meet certain requirements before being approved. The supplier must demonstrate its ability to consistently supply items that meet Auntie Annes's standards, including those related to artwork and text on the products. If the supplier gains access to Auntie Annes's confidential information, trade secrets, or logos, it must sign a confidentiality agreement and/or Auntie Annes's standard form license agreement.

Furthermore, the supplier needs to prove that it has a good reputation within the business community, particularly regarding its financial stability and the reliability of its products or services. Finally, the supplier is required to sign all agreements that Auntie Annes requires its suppliers to sign at the time of approval.

These requirements ensure that Auntie Annes maintains consistent quality and protects its brand standards across all franchise locations. For a prospective franchisee, this means they must use only approved suppliers for certain goods, ensuring product quality and consistency but potentially limiting their options and increasing costs. It is important for franchisees to understand these supplier requirements and any associated costs, as they can impact the profitability and operational efficiency of their Auntie Annes franchise.
