What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Auntie Annes's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, operating a Jamba Co-Branded Shop requires fulfilling specific conditions with both Auntie Annes and Jamba. First, you must purchase an Auntie Anne's franchise and sign a Franchise Agreement with Auntie Annes, including the Co-Branded Shop Schedule. Second, you must also purchase a Jamba franchise, signing a Jamba franchise agreement and a co-branded schedule directly with Jamba. Auntie Annes will not grant you the right to operate a Jamba Co-Branded Shop unless Jamba agrees to offer you a Jamba franchise and permits its operation at a co-branded location.
This co-branding arrangement means that prospective franchisees must meet the requirements of two separate franchisors, each with their own standards and fees. The FDD specifies that the details of the Jamba franchise offering, agreement, and related documents are found in Jamba's own disclosure document, which you must obtain separately from Jamba. This highlights the importance of carefully reviewing both the Auntie Annes and Jamba FDDs to fully understand the obligations and investment required for each franchise.
In essence, operating a Jamba Co-Branded Shop involves a dual-franchise commitment, where you are simultaneously bound by the terms and conditions set forth by both Auntie Annes and Jamba. This arrangement allows you to leverage the brand recognition and product offerings of both franchises within a single location, potentially attracting a broader customer base. However, it also means navigating two distinct sets of operational guidelines, marketing strategies, and financial obligations, making it a more complex undertaking than operating a single-brand franchise.
