What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Auntie Annes's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the deadline for submitting the final Architectural Plans is the same as the Construction Start Deadline, as specified in Schedule A. This means a prospective franchisee must submit a complete set of final Architectural Plans to Auntie Annes by the date listed as the Construction Start Deadline in their individual franchise agreement's Schedule A.

It is important to note that the franchisee cannot begin construction until Auntie Annes has given written acceptance of the final Architectural Plans. Auntie Annes will review the plans and either accept them or provide comments on required changes. The initial review and one revision incorporating required changes are done at no cost. However, Auntie Annes may charge a fee of $1,000 for each subsequent review of drawings that include modifications from previously accepted plans.

The review of the Architectural Plans by Auntie Annes is limited to ensuring compliance with their standards and does not assess structural integrity or compliance with applicable laws. It is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure the plans meet all legal and structural requirements. Additionally, on completion of construction, the franchisee's architect or general contractor must provide a certificate stating that the as-built plans comply with the ADA and all other applicable laws.
