What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Auntie Annes Franchise Disclosure Document, the Auntie Annes system is defined by a distinctive business format, specifications, and operating procedures for food-related businesses. This system is used for developing, establishing, and operating businesses that offer approved products under the primary trademark.
Prospective franchisees should note that the franchise agreement emphasizes adherence to the established system. This includes using approved products, following operational guidelines, and maintaining the brand's standards. The success of an Auntie Annes franchise relies heavily on consistently implementing the franchisor's system.
The franchise agreement includes provisions for operating a Satellite Retail Unit (SRU), which is an extension of the standard Auntie Annes shop. If approved to operate an SRU, franchisees can conduct certain business activities from a specified SRU location, which is also considered part of the franchised business. All revenues generated from an SRU are included in the definition of "Net Sales."
Overall, the Auntie Annes system provides a structured approach to operating a pretzel franchise, with a focus on consistency and adherence to brand standards. The option to operate an SRU offers some flexibility, but it is subject to franchisor approval and specific guidelines.
