Answer from 2024 FDD Document

Our Shops will contribute to the Ad Fund in the same manner and in the same amounts as similarly-situated franchised Shops. Our other franchisees may not be required to contribute to the Ad Fund, may be required to contribute to the Ad Fund at a different rate than you, or may be required to contribute to a different advertising fund.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Auntie Annes' 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, company-owned shops contribute to the Ad Fund in the same manner and amounts as similarly-situated franchised shops. However, the document also states that other franchisees may not be required to contribute to the Ad Fund, may be required to contribute at a different rate, or may be required to contribute to a different advertising fund.

This means that while company-owned Auntie Annes locations generally participate in the Ad Fund, there could be variations in contribution requirements among different franchisees. This could be influenced by factors such as location type (e.g., Streetside vs. Other Locations) or specific agreements with Auntie Annes.

For a prospective franchisee, this implies that the contribution requirements to the Ad Fund may not be uniform across all Auntie Annes locations. It is important to clarify the specific contribution rate and any potential variations based on the location type or other factors during the due diligence process. Understanding these details will help in accurately forecasting expenses and assessing the financial viability of the franchise.
