What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Auntie Annes's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Ad Fund can be used for crew incentives. Specifically, the Ad Fund may be used to cover the costs of administering national, local, or regional advertising, promotional, or brand-building programs. These programs can include activities directly or indirectly designed to promote the Auntie Annes system, its franchisees, and/or increase system sales.
Crew incentives are explicitly listed as one of the potential uses of the Ad Fund. Other examples of programs that the Ad Fund can be used for include limited-time menu offerings, franchisee incentive and/or promotional programs, customized materials (e.g., cups), up-sell programs, guest response programs, manager/employee recognition programs, quality assurance and food safety programs, mystery shop and shopper programs, brand websites and ordering platforms, brand applications, social media account administration and promotion, and in-store equipment and technologies related to such marketing programs.
This means that Auntie Annes has the discretion to allocate funds towards initiatives designed to motivate and reward store-level employees. This could include bonuses, contests, or other reward systems intended to improve performance and customer service. As a franchisee, you may benefit from these incentives through improved employee morale and potentially increased sales, although Auntie Annes retains sole authority over the implementation and specifics of these programs.
