What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Augusta Lawn Care Franchise Disclosure Document, the payment of initial franchise fees may be deferred depending on the state where the franchise is located. For franchisees in Maryland and South Dakota, the initial franchise fee and other initial payments are deferred until Augusta Lawn Care has completed its pre-opening obligations under the Franchise Agreement, and the franchisee has commenced operations.
This means that in Maryland and South Dakota, new Augusta Lawn Care franchisees do not have to pay the initial franchise fee upfront. Instead, the payment is delayed until Augusta Lawn Care has fulfilled its responsibilities in helping the franchisee get started, and the franchisee has actually begun operating their business. This can be a significant benefit for new franchisees as it reduces the initial financial burden and allows them to focus on setting up their business.
Similarly, in the state of Washington, the initial franchise fees are deferred until Augusta Lawn Care has fulfilled its initial pre-opening obligations under the Franchise Agreement and the franchise is open for business. This deferral is a financial condition imposed by the State of Washington. Therefore, prospective franchisees should verify with Augusta Lawn Care whether they meet all the necessary pre-opening obligations and what constitutes the commencement of operations to ensure they understand when the initial fees become due.
