What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Augusta Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated cost for upgrading and replacing a computer system ranges from $500 to $1,000. The FDD states that Augusta Lawn Care may upgrade the minimum computer system requirements at any time to keep pace with technology. While there are no contractual limitations on the frequency or cost, Augusta Lawn Care expects franchisees to upgrade at least every five years.
In addition to general computer upgrades, Augusta Lawn Care franchisees are required to purchase and use a complete computer software services and electronic cash register/point-of-sale system (POS System). The current designated POS System is Copilot, but this is subject to change. Franchisees are also required to obtain other necessary computer services, including two iPads and/or laptop or desktop computers. The approximate annual cost for the POS System and other required equipment is $3,000, which is subject to increases by the vendors.
It is the franchisee's responsibility to handle any maintenance, repairs, or updates to the computer system. Augusta Lawn Care may assist in obtaining the computer system and related services but is not obligated to do so. Franchisees must also utilize the Command Center, and there is a Command Center Fee associated with it, as detailed in Item 6 of the FDD. Augusta Lawn Care disclaims all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law and is not obligated to provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates to any component of the computer system.
