What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Augusta Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees have significant autonomy over their employees. Augusta Lawn Care does not exert direct control over the labor and employment matters of its franchisees or their employees. While Augusta Lawn Care may offer suggestions and guidance, the franchisee ultimately decides whether to implement them. This independence extends to hiring, termination, compensation, working hours, conditions, and day-to-day activities of the franchisee's staff.

This arrangement positions Augusta Lawn Care franchisees as independent business owners responsible for managing their workforce. The FDD emphasizes that mandatory specifications, standards, and operating procedures do not encompass the terms or conditions of employment, nor do they include mandated personnel policies or procedures. This reinforces the franchisee's control over their employees.

However, the agreement stipulates that franchisees must maintain a staff of competent, conscientious, and trained employees sufficient to operate the Augusta Lawn Care Business in compliance with Augusta Lawn Care's standards. This requirement ensures that while franchisees have autonomy in managing their employees, they must still adhere to certain standards to protect the brand and maintain service quality. This balance between franchisee independence and brand consistency is typical in franchising.
