What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Atwell Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before starting construction of the hotel, a licensee must submit evidence to IHG that they are entitled to possession of the premises on which the hotel will be located. These documents are subject to IHG's approval.
This requirement ensures that the franchisee has the legal right to build and operate the Atwell Suites hotel at the chosen location. IHG's approval of these documents protects their brand by verifying the franchisee's legal standing.
For a prospective Atwell Suites franchisee, this means securing all necessary legal documentation demonstrating their right to possess the property. This could include a lease agreement, purchase agreement, or other legal instrument. It is crucial to obtain IHG's approval of these documents before commencing any construction activities to avoid potential delays or legal issues.
