What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Atwell Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Atwell Suites hotel must submit or report transactions to FreedomPay for settlement within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the transaction. If the hotel submits transactions after this 60-day period, FreedomPay will attempt to settle them if the data is available. However, FreedomPay bears no liability if it cannot settle transactions submitted past the deadline.
This requirement means that Atwell Suites franchisees must have efficient and timely processes for submitting transaction data to FreedomPay. Delays in submission could result in the hotel not receiving payment for those transactions, which would directly impact revenue. Franchisees should ensure their point-of-sale systems and accounting practices are aligned with this requirement to avoid potential financial losses.
It is common practice in the franchise industry for franchisors to set deadlines for financial reporting and transaction submissions to maintain consistency and accuracy across the brand. The 60-day window provided by Atwell Suites and FreedomPay appears reasonable, but franchisees should confirm they can meet this deadline consistently. Franchisees should also clarify with Atwell Suites what specific data and documentation are required for each transaction submission to ensure compliance and avoid any settlement issues.
