What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Apricot Lane's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the standard timeframe to open a business is within six months after the execution of the Franchise Agreement. However, this timeframe differs if the franchisee has an "Open License." An Open License applies when a specific location hasn't been identified at the time of signing the agreement.
For franchisees with an Open License, the timeframe to open the Apricot Lane store is extended to twelve months after an approved site is secured. This extension provides additional time to find and secure a suitable location, which is a critical step in establishing the business.
In both scenarios, the franchisor retains the discretion to grant a written extension of time, if needed. This flexibility can be crucial if unforeseen circumstances delay the opening process, such as construction delays or permitting issues. It is important for prospective franchisees to maintain open communication with Apricot Lane and request an extension in writing if they anticipate any difficulties in meeting the standard deadlines.
