What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Apricot Lane's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Apricot Lane retains the right to maintain websites beyond the System Website. They can offer and sell products and services under the Apricot Lane marks through the System Website, other websites, or generally over the Internet. This can be done without any payment or obligation to the franchisee.
This means that Apricot Lane has the freedom to operate multiple online sales channels. As a franchisee, you will not receive direct compensation from sales made through these other online platforms. This is a common practice in franchising, where the franchisor seeks to maximize brand exposure and sales through various channels, which may or may not directly benefit individual franchisees.
Prospective franchisees should consider how Apricot Lane's online sales strategy might affect their store's performance. While the franchisor's online presence can boost overall brand awareness, it could also create competition for customers. It would be prudent to discuss with Apricot Lane how they balance online sales with the success of brick-and-mortar locations and what support they offer to help franchisees compete in the digital marketplace.
