You may use the Marks only as permitted by the Franchise Agreement and in accordance with our guidelines. Any goodwill established by your use of the Marks belongs to COUNTRY VISIONS. You may not contest the validity or ownership of the Marks or assist another in contesting the Marks at any time during or following the term of the franchise.

According to Apricot Lane's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any goodwill established by a franchisee's use of the Apricot Lane marks belongs to COUNTRY VISIONS. This means that while franchisees build local brand recognition and customer loyalty through their Apricot Lane store, the value associated with that recognition ultimately benefits COUNTRY VISIONS, the franchisor.
This is a standard practice in franchising. The franchisee is granted the right to use the brand's trademarks and system, but the franchisor retains ownership of the brand and its associated goodwill. For a prospective Apricot Lane franchisee, this means that upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the value they've built in the Apricot Lane name at their specific location reverts to COUNTRY VISIONS. The franchisee cannot leverage that established brand equity independently after the franchise relationship ends. The franchisee also cannot contest the validity or ownership of the marks at any time during or following the term of the franchise.
