What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Apricot Lane FDD, franchisees must adhere to specific standards for the E-Commerce Platform. These standards encompass development, design, marketing, sales, and operations, including policies related to quality, image, merchandise lines, digital advertising, terms and conditions, photography, reporting, packaging, merchandise returns, and gift cards. These standards are detailed in the Confidential Operations Manual, which Apricot Lane may update periodically.
This requirement means that franchisees do not have complete autonomy over their online store's appearance or operation. They must follow the guidelines set by Apricot Lane to maintain brand consistency and quality across all E-Commerce Platforms. This includes adhering to specific layouts, visual elements, and marketing strategies.
The franchisee must use only approved suppliers for the E-Commerce Platform's design, management, and maintenance. Apricot Lane also has approval rights over all content used on the E-Commerce Platform before it is incorporated. This ensures that all online content aligns with the brand's standards and image.
Non-compliance with these standards could lead to penalties or termination of the franchisee's right to use the E-Commerce Platform. Therefore, prospective franchisees should carefully review the Confidential Operations Manual and any updates to fully understand the requirements and expectations for operating the E-Commerce Platform.
