What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Apricot Lane's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchisor deems it necessary to provide additional assistance to a franchisee during the opening of their franchised business, the franchisee is responsible for reimbursing Apricot Lane for the expenses incurred. These expenses are calculated at the then-current rates published in the Confidential Operations Manual.
The reimbursable expenses include, but are not limited to, travel, lodging, and a per diem charge for Apricot Lane and/or its representatives. This means that franchisees should budget for potential additional costs beyond the initial support provided by Apricot Lane during the opening phase. The amount will depend on the duration and intensity of the extra support needed.
Additionally, if the Apricot Lane location is not ready when Apricot Lane's representatives arrive, the franchisee may incur further costs. Apricot Lane reserves the right to recall its representatives until the location is deemed ready. In such cases, the franchisee agrees to pay for the costs of sending the representatives back to the location. Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for any costs related to changing flight tickets due to the location not being ready. As an alternative to recalling representatives, Apricot Lane may choose to have them remain on-site, in which case the franchisee agrees to cover the added lodging and subsistence costs for each day they are prevented from completing their assigned functions. The decision to recall representatives or extend their stay is at Apricot Lane's discretion.
