What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Apricot Lane's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is renewing their agreement, they must bring the Franchised Business and the premises into full compliance with the then-current specifications and standards for new or renewing Specialty Stores within 90 days from the expiration date of the current agreement. This requirement is part of the conditions that must be met before the expiration of the current term to secure the right to remain in possession of the premises during the renewal term, or to secure substitute premises for the renewal term.
This means that an Apricot Lane franchisee needs to plan well in advance of their franchise agreement's expiration date to ensure they can meet these standards. This includes any necessary renovations, updates to the store's layout, decor, signage, or equipment to align with Apricot Lane's current brand standards. Failing to meet this deadline could jeopardize the franchisee's ability to renew their agreement and continue operating their Apricot Lane store.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand the financial implications of these potential upgrades and factor them into their long-term business plan. They should also maintain open communication with Apricot Lane to stay informed about any upcoming changes to the brand's specifications and standards, allowing them sufficient time to prepare for future renewals.
