What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Aplus will approve or reject a franchisee's site selection application within 30 days of receiving it. This is according to Section 5.1 of the Franchise Agreement.
Site selection is a critical step in establishing a franchise, as location significantly impacts the potential success of the business. The 30-day review period provides a defined timeframe for Aplus to assess the suitability of the proposed site. Aplus considers factors such as demographics, accessibility, competition, traffic, visibility, and local regulations when evaluating a site.
If Aplus and the franchisee cannot agree on a site within 90 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, and no other qualified site is found, Aplus has the right to terminate the franchise agreement. In this case, any Initial Franchise Fee or Supplemental Franchise Fee paid to Aplus is fully earned and is non-refundable. This highlights the importance of thorough site selection and the potential financial risk if a suitable location cannot be secured within the specified timeframe.
Factors that could affect the time period may include the ability to obtain a lease, financing, obtaining required permits, weather conditions, shortages or delays in installation of certain equipment, fixtures, or signs.
