What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain specific employer's liability insurance limits. The policy must include Coverage B with limits of at least $500,000 for each accident, $500,000 for disease-policy limit, and $500,000 for disease-each employee.

In addition to these employer's liability requirements, Aplus franchisees must also carry worker's compensation insurance with statutory limits (Coverage A). Aplus also mandates that Sunoco be included as an additional insured on all insurance policies, ensuring that Sunoco is protected under the franchisee's insurance coverage.

Aplus retains the right to increase the minimum liability protection requirement annually to reflect inflation, changes in liability standards, future damage awards, or other relevant changes. These policies must be written by an insurance company licensed in the state where the franchisee operates and have an 'A-' Rating Classification or better, as indicated in A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide. Franchisees must provide proof of insurance coverage to Aplus, including endorsements and certificates, within fifteen days of receiving such certificates, and these certificates must state that the policies cannot be canceled or altered without at least thirty days' prior written notice to Aplus.
