What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a developer must meet certain operational conditions before exercising their development rights. Specifically, the developer must apply to Aplus for a franchise to operate a store. Aplus will then assess whether the developer meets the operational, financial, and legal conditions.
Operationally, the developer must be in compliance with the Development Schedule and the Development Agreement itself. Furthermore, the developer or their affiliates must be in compliance with any other agreements between them and Aplus or its affiliates. The developer must also be conducting the operation of their existing stores, if any, and be capable of operating the proposed store in accordance with the terms of the Development Agreement, the Franchise Agreements, and the standards and procedures outlined in the manuals.
These conditions ensure that the developer is committed to the Aplus brand and has the ability to successfully operate additional stores. Meeting these operational conditions is crucial for maintaining the quality and consistency of the Aplus brand and protecting the interests of both the franchisor and other franchisees.
