What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain commercial general liability insurance with a minimum limit of $500,000 per occurrence. This insurance covers claims for bodily injury and property damage arising from the operation of the franchise.
If an Aplus franchisee conducts motor vehicle service or repairs at the premises, they must also carry garage liability insurance with minimum limits of at least $500,000 combined single limit per occurrence, as well as automobile liability insurance coverage with minimum limits of at least $500,000 combined single limit per occurrence.
Aplus also states that they have the right to reasonably increase the minimum liability protection requirement annually and require different or additional insurance coverage(s) to reflect inflation, changes in standards of liability, future damage awards or other relevant changes in circumstances. Franchisees must ensure that Sunoco is included as an additional insured and loss payee on all insurance policies.
